Celebrating 100 days in Office

Today marks my 100th day in office.

My proudest achievement was to speak for the first time in a Westminster Hall debate in parliament, sharing the stories of Hemel residents about the SEND provision and the broken system faced. I’ve since sent a letter to the education minister and eagerly await a response.

I’ve also thoroughly enjoyed constituency visits, from school reopening to fire station tours, and most importantly getting to meet more people. I held my first surgery and look forward to planning many more.

Labour has made significant progress in its manifesto for change, and it’s only just the beginning:

  • Giving the green light to bring public bus services under local control

  • Setting up an NHS 24/7 helpline for mental health

  • Introducing the renter's rights and employment rights bill

  • Starting GB energy and railways in public ownership

  • Giving veterans, careleavers, and domestic abuse victims access to social housing

  • And so much more!

Reflecting on the future, I'm determined to ensure Hemel fulfils its founding promise: To be the best possible place to live, work, bring up a family, and grow old in.

Marking 100 days in office by speaking with folks on Alexandra Road! Thanks to everyone who opened their doors to us on a rainy day.
